What to Wear in December to Disney World for Women
The weather is just pretty downright delightful in Orlando in December. It’s not sweltering like the summertime, but it’s not freezing, either – (usually.)
When taking a Disney trip during December, I like to dress for the season a little.
You’ll love it too because this is your opportunity to wear an adorable (casual) dress with cute tights or leggings.
If you’re not going to the parks for the whole day, you might even be able to get away with boots without hurting your feet too much.
Jeans would definitely be fine this time of year, as there’s often enough of a chill in the air.
- Offcially Licensed
- 100% Acrylic
- Adult Men’s sizing
Leggings are always my tried and true suggestion, because they’re just so darn comfortable. You could sport a cute beanie or scarf if you wanted!
Or you might want to take it off by the afternoon, but you’d be able to wear it long enough for photos and a few rides, for sure.
Lastly, you can even wear long-sleeve t-shirts this time of year. Just don’t layer up too much. It’s still Florida, y’all!

You could still also go with short-sleeves just in case and pack a jacket or sweatshirt as backup.
Stick with comfortable sneakers. You probably don’t want sandals this time of year unless you’re just going to the resort pool.
Ballcaps are excellent for December, because the sun still might be in your eyes, even if it’s not beating down on you all day.
And listen, I know it might seem silly, but sunscreen is still necessary!
Did You Know? You can get sunburned even in overcast weather. It’s true!
- Adult Sized Disney beanie hat and texting gloves set – officially licensed
- Touchscreen gloves allow you to text while wearing, because the tips of the index fingers and thumbs contain a conductive material
- One size fits most teens and adults
- Beanie hat features a Fair Isle print of Mickey/Minnie Mouse icons or Jack Skellington with snowflakes and a Pom-Pom on top
- Knit hat measures approximately 8” wide x 11” long (uncuffed and laid flat)
Jeans would be fine this time of year, although you may still opt not to wear them, as walking around the parks in jeans all day may be uncomfortable. It’s up to you!
Walt Disney World Weather in December
In December, WDW has typical highs of mid to low 70s and lows of mid 50s! Sounds almost unbelievable, right?
It must be the magic of December and Disney working together.
December is typically a drier month, so you could always bring the ponchos if you love to be prepared for anything, but truthfully, you probably won’t need them at all.
I recommend less open-toed footwear this time of year, as it can be chilly. Light jackets and sweaters are a great idea.
And as we always say, check the weather before you leave town! It will make such a difference.
Sometimes just days before you leave, something drastic happens in the weather patterns.
If the temperature suddenly drops, you’ll be glad you checked in advance. Take it from the pro!
