News around Universal Studios has been buzzing throughout all media sources this past week mainly due to the exciting new things happening every day around the park! Join us every week to read about what’s new “Around the Universe.” This week’s update features: Diagon Alley grand opening, new CityWalk eateries, and much more!
You’ve decided to brave the Florida heat and stand uncomfortably close to other Potterheads during the Diagon Alley grand opening celebration. Well don’t worry about it. You are not alone. I will also be in the number plotting ways to get as close to the front of the line as I possibly can. The #Potterwatch phenomenon, which started back in 2010 with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, is once again in full effect for Diagon Alley.
*Disclaimer: for the true Harry Potter fan.*
“You’re a wizard Harry!”
This line is very familiar to the fans of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Those few words spoken by our favorite half-giant led us on a seven year adventure of magical triumphs and divine destinies, all starting in Diagon Alley. I know as a fellow Potter fan I’ve imagined walking the famous alley going from shop to shop and chatting with the citizens of this world. In my mind we’d have passing conversations about the previous defeat of the Chudley Cannons and who was on the cover of the latest issue of Witch Weekly.
So Hipsters…I apologize in advance for the Harry Potter overload of stories coming from me for the next few months. I will try to spread them out as much as I can for the Muggles uninterested in the tales of the Boy Who Lived. However, being a Rowling fan and a fan of the wonderful universe she has created makes it hard for me not to want to write as many posts about the Diagon Alley expansion as I can.
Muggles, Witches, and Wizards all came dressed to celebrate The Boy Who Lived this past weekend at Universal Studios Orlando.
It was absolutely epic!
Warner Bros. and Universal Studios Orlando are partnering up again to celebrate the magic of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for the approaching weekend. This celebration will recognize the amazing storytelling and cinematic feats used to bring this wonderful world to life.
This week’s ThemeParkHipster highlight from Dan!
How’s it going? Thanks for all the great hipster news you post. I went to opening night at Halloween Horror Nights and recorded every maze. I also have videos of the Scare Zones, Jurassic Park and two videos from the RIP experience including a Insidious Experience and Back Lot Tour. I hope you enjoy it.
There are many rumors circulating about what building is for each attraction.
I have my own opinions too, but what do you think?
Orlando has been officially Tranformatized (my own word, lol) and if you were anywhere near Universal Studios you would have felt the excitement roaring in the air. In true Universal style the grand opening show was spectacular.
The recent released news regarding the Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion gave me the urge to head over to Universal’s Island of Adventures to complete another New Year’s Resolution. Writing in Hogsmeade was very inspiring. After all, the creator of this great world inspired me to began writing my own novel.
