What is Cedar Point?
Cedar Point, also known to theme park enthusiasts as the Holy Grail of Amusement Parks, the ultimate thrill seeker’s paradise, and literally the World’s Best Amusement Park!
With over 70 amazing rides, this is a travel destination you cannot miss!
You can also enjoy breaks over on the Lake Eerie beach which is a rarity at amusement parks.
Plus, the park is always introducing new rides and attractions each year such as the Top Thrill 2 roller coaster and Boardwalk Expansion.
What to Expect at Hotel Breakers Cedar Point
If you’re planning on visiting Cedar Point, then you are most likely trying to decide if you should stay on-site at the Hotel Breakers.
The resort has quite an elaborate history in Sandusky, Ohio and has been around since 1905.
This beachfront resort is located right on Lake Erie and houses 669 rooms and suites.
One of my favorite features about this resort is that many of the rooms have spectacular waterfront views and balconies.
You also get the option to have a beachfront view or a theme park view (either one is pretty awesome to me).
The hotel was originally built to house guests who were visiting the Cedar Point Amusement Park so that guests could easily walk to the park.
Now it welcomes people from all over the world.
One of the most popular activities at the hotel is enjoying beach access to Lake Eerie and of course the incredible roller coasters at Cedar Point amusement park!
My Hotel Breakers Review and Experience
Overall, my experience at Hotel Breakers was pretty good. The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly. The only negative thing about the hotel was the age.
There are areas of the hotel where you can clearly tell that it’s over a century old and because it’s only open seasonally, you’ll notice a lot of things like spider webs and dust on the outside patio area if you decide to get a suite.
I chose the one bedroom suite which is still a bit small in size if you do decide to travel with family and stay in one room.
My favorite aspects of Hotel Breakers are the architecture, the proximity to Lake Eerie (you can literally see it from your room) and being only a few steps from the gates of Cedar Point!
I also enjoy all of the amenities and perks like early access to Cedar Point, multiple popular chain onsite restaurants, indoor/outdoor pools and so much more that I will discuss later.
Hipster Power Tip: Go during the fall to see all of the amazing, yet spooky Halloween decor around the hotel.
Can you walk from Hotel Breakers to Cedar Point?
The answer is yes. It is literally right outside your hotel with less than a 5-minute walk. There are multiple gate options to choose from when entering the park from Hotel Breakers.
The Magnum XL entrance is best if you want to head to rides like Top Thrill 2, Steel Vengeance, and Maverick.
But my favorite entrance is located near the WindSeeker attraction which is usually less crowded and gets you closer to the new Boardwalk Area and the Gatekeeper roller coaster.
Can I buy my Cedar Point Tickets at Hotel Breakers?
The best way to buy Cedar Point tickets is to purchase them online. You can buy Cedar Point tickets in advance and avoid the lines and crowds.
If you are staying at Hotel Breakers, you can buy Cedar Point tickets at the hotel.
You can also purchase Cedar Point tickets at the Cedar Point ticket booth, if you are visiting the park in the next few days.
Hipster Power Tip: Be sure to purchase your tickets online to save money as they’re more at the gate.
Does Cedar Point Hotel Breakers include parking?
Cedar Point Hotel Breakers does include parking in your stay and is free!
You will have a designated parking area during your trip that’s right in front of the hotel and near the Magnum XL roller coaster gate.
Hotel Breakers complimentary parking also includes in and out privileges in case you need to leave the resort for anything.
How to get to Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point?
Once you arrive at the Cedar Point amusement park, a parking attendant will want to see your room reservation information before you are granted access.
Once you give proof of your stay, you will then proceed to driving on the side of the amusement park where you will pass Millennium Force and Steel Vengeance on your right and the boat dock area and water park on your left.

Personally, this is the only hotel I stay at when I go to Sandusky, Ohio. However, here are some other options if this is too pricey for you.
