2014 Theme Park Holiday Events

Happy December Hipsters! It’s my second favorite month of the year (minus my birthday month of November 😉 ) which means the Christmas season is in full effect around the theme parks! Listed below are a few events going on until January to commemorate the joyful occasion.

Tastes From Around the Globe at Epcot Holidays Around the World: This year Epcot is taking guests around the world to experience seasonal traditions from various countries – including tastes of homelands far, far away taking place now until December 30, 2014.

Hipsters will be treated to the Turkey Waffle – a filling sweet potato waffle with roast turkey and green bean casserole (an all-in-one holiday dinner) at Promenade Refreshments. Guests can then head to Canada for a pecan-maple bark, a yuletide favorite of our Northern neighbors. Next on the delicious journey is a taste of hot applejack cider with whiskey and a blend of seasonal spices. Parkgoers will be able to delight in the tasty drink while listening to stories of Father Christmas in the United Kingdom. Hipsters will also be able to find additional treats in each of the other pavilions as well.

Holiday Entertainment at EpcotNew Holidays Around the World experiences for the 2014 holiday season in Mexico, Morocco, and China have been added. In Mexico, guests will enjoy the songs and traditions of “Fiesta de Navidad,” in Morocco a storyteller will invite guests to join her through the “spice of life” holiday journey across Morocco, and in China guests will be brought good fortune in the Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival.

Beginning Dec. 6 and running daily through Jan. 3, the Holidays at Universal Orlando features one-of-a-kind traditions. At Universal’s Islands of Adventure, families will light up with holiday cheer as Grinchmas comes to life throughout Seuss Landing. Guests can enjoy a live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic holiday tale, “Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular,” featuring the Whos from Who-ville, accompanied by an original musical score by Mannheim Steamroller.

At Universal Studios Florida, the Macy’s Holiday Parade will fill the streets every evening with the same larger-than-life balloons seen in Macy’s famous Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Guests will not want to miss the Chloe The Clown “Balloonicle,” a new addition to the parade that combines a towering balloon with a self-powered vehicle that roams the streets of Universal Studios.
